Monstera Adansonii
About This Botanical
The Monstera Adansonii (Monstera adansonii), available in 4" and 6" nursery pots, is famously known as the Swiss Cheese Vine for its perforated heart-shaped leaves. It climbs gracefully on moss poles or cascades over the edges of hanging baskets.
How to Care for Monstera Adansonii: Flourishes in bright indirect light with moderate humidity. Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil dry, ensuring the pot never sits in standing water. After repotting, use a coarse, chunky aroid substrate with pine bark and pumice for healthy airflow.
Identification: Unlike Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma), Adansonii features closed oval fenestrations inside the leaf borders.
Pet Safety: Insoluble calcium oxalate crystals make this plant toxic to cats and dogs if chewed.
