About This Botanical
The Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma), shipped in 4" and 6" nursery pots, is a rapid-climbing tropical vine known for its charming split leaves. While resembling a miniature Monstera, it belongs to an entirely separate genus native to Southeast Asia.
How to Care for Mini Monstera: Thrives in bright, indirect light where it can climb a trellis or moss pole. Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry, avoiding excess moisture around the root zone. When repotting, use a chunky aroid mix blending peat, perlite, and coarse bark.
Identification: Mini Monstera is Rhaphidophora tetrasperma, not a true Monstera; its leaves split to the outer edge unlike Adansonii's closed holes.
Pet Safety: Insoluble calcium oxalate crystals make this plant toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
