Phalaenopsis Orchid in Color (Yellow, Orange or Purple)
Phalaenopsis hybrid
Long-lasting orchid blooms in yellow, orange or purple.
About This Botanical
Phalaenopsis, or moth orchids, are the easiest orchids to keep and the blooms last for weeks. These are mini plants in 3" pots, sold in bloom or bud in three colors: a warm yellow, a soft orange, and a deep purple-fuchsia. Colors vary a little from plant to plant.
The main rule is to water less often than you think. Water when the bark or moss is nearly dry, which is usually every 7 to 10 days. Run water through the pot, then let it drain completely, because orchid roots rot if they sit in water. Bright indirect light keeps the leaves firm and green. When the flowers finish, leave the plant in the same spot. A few weeks of cooler fall nights usually sets off a new spike.
Nursery-pot options ship in the grower's 3" pot. Choose a planter option and the orchid arrives already potted in it.
