About This Botanical

Unlike trailing peperomias, Rosso grows upright in a tight rosette, rarely more than a few inches tall. The color contrast is structural, not lighting-dependent — flip a leaf over and the red underside is there regardless of how much light it's getting.

Care: Medium to bright indirect light. Water when the top half of the soil is dry; the thick leaves store water, so err on the dry side. ASPCA lists Peperomia caperata as non-toxic to cats and dogs.

“Why is the underside of the leaf red?”

Normal for this cultivar — it's not a nutrient deficiency or stress response, it's what Rosso looks like.
