Hoya (Wax Plants & Porcelain Flowers)
Hoya is an enchanting genus of semi-epiphytic, succulent climbing vines famous for thick waxy leaves and intensely fragrant porcelain star-shaped flower umbels. Entirely non-toxic to cats and dogs, Hoyas thrive in bright indirect light with gentle morning sun and chunky, breathable epiphytic substrates.
Hoyas bloom from perennial woody spurs called peduncles. Never cut off the peduncles after the flowers fade! The plant will re-bloom from the exact same spurs year after year.

Hoya Care at a Glance
Bright indirect to dappled morning sun (400–1,000+ fc) essential for flowering umbel formation.
Drought-tolerant. Allow mix to dry nearly 100% before drenching. Perform the leaf taco test for softness.
Chunky epiphytic mix: 40% coarse orchid bark, 30% perlite/pumice, 20% coco husk, 10% potting soil.
Never prune off peduncle spurs! Keep pot-bound in snug planters to stimulate blooming cycles.
