About This Botanical

Hoya 'Lisa' is a variegated form of Hoya australis. The leaves are thick and waxy, with a cream center and a green edge, and new leaves often come in pink or red when the light is good. It's a vining plant. Indoors the vines usually reach about 3 feet, and you can let them trail or train them around a hoop.

Like most hoyas, it stores water in its leaves. Let the soil dry most of the way, then water well and let it drain. Too much water is the usual problem. Mature plants in bright light can bloom with round clusters of small, waxy, fragrant flowers. Leave the old flower spurs on the vine, since new flowers come from the same spot.

Ships in the grower's 4 inch plastic nursery pot. The photos show typical plants.
