About This Botanical

The Florida Ghost Philodendron (Philodendron 'Florida Ghost') is an exceptionally prized collector aroid born from the hybridization of P. pedatum and P. squamiferum. It is world-renowned for its chameleon foliage: newly emerging leaves unfurl in a luminous, ghostly ivory-white, gradually transitioning to pastel mint, chartreuse, and finally deep emerald as they mature.

Featuring deeply lobed, architectural foliage and reddish textured petioles, this vigorous climber flourishes when provided with a moss pole or wooden trellis to ascend.

Botanical Care Essentials

Light Bright indirect light. High light levels are crucial to produce the brightest white new leaf color. Protect from harsh direct sun.
Water Water thoroughly when the top 2 inches of potting mix become dry. Ensure drainage holes are unblocked.
Humidity Moderate to high humidity (55–75%). Higher humidity promotes larger, well-formed lobed leaves.
Temperature 65°F to 85°F (18°C–29°C). Keep protected from chilly drafts and heating radiators.
Substrate Chunky, airy aroid mix containing orchid bark, perlite, horticultural charcoal, and peat moss.
⚠️ Pet Toxicity Notice: The ASPCA lists Philodendrons as toxic to dogs and cats due to insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. Keep safely out of reach of domestic pets.
