String of Hearts (Ceropegia woodii)
Ceropegia woodii
Thin trailing vines lined with small, marbled, heart-shaped leaves.
About This Botanical
String of hearts sends thin purple vines over the edge of the pot, lined with small heart-shaped leaves marbled in silver and green. The variegated form has cream and pink edges that get pinker in good light. Either one looks best hanging or on a high shelf where the vines can fall.
It's a semi-succulent that stores water in its leaves and in small round tubers along the vines, so it handles dry spells much better than wet ones. Water when the soil is almost completely dry and give it bright light. Thin, widely spaced leaves mean it wants more light. Trailing plants like this can carry mealybugs, which is one reason we check every plant for pests before it ships.
Nursery-pot options ship in a 4" grower's pot. Choose a planter option and the plant arrives already potted in it.
