What's included
• 1 packet of 20 coleus seeds (Rainbow or Black Dragon)
• 1 greenhouse planter
• 1 coconut fiber soil pod
• 1 care guide
What to expect: seeds usually sprout in 7 to 14 days. Plants reach a full, bushy shape in about 2 to 6 months, depending on light.
Seeds are packed for the 2026 growing season.
Common questions
How do you plant coleus seeds?
Moisten the soil pod, scatter a few seeds on the surface and press them in lightly. Coleus seeds are tiny and need light to sprout, so cover them barely or not at all. Keep the lid on and the planter warm (70 to 85°F) in bright, indirect light.
When should you plant coleus seeds?
Indoors, any time of year. If you plan to move plants outside for summer, start seeds 8 to 10 weeks before your last frost date.
How deep do you plant coleus seeds?
Barely at all. Press them onto the surface of moist mix. Burying them too deep blocks the light they need to germinate.
