Asparagus Fern 'Sprengeri'
Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri'
Soft, feathery arching fronds that make an easy, airy green cascade.
About This Botanical
The Asparagus Fern 'Sprengeri' (Asparagus densiflorus) isn't a true fern. It's a relative of the edible asparagus, with arching stems covered in soft, needle-like green leaves. Thick tuberous roots store water, which makes it much more forgiving than most ferns.
Give it bright indirect light and water when the top inch of soil is dry. It handles normal home humidity, though very dry air can cause some yellowing. Trim any brown stems at the base to keep it fresh. ASPCA lists asparagus fern as toxic to cats and dogs (sapogenins; berries can cause stomach upset and the sap can irritate skin). Keep it out of reach of pets and children.
Ships in a nursery grow pot, covered by our 30-day Live Arrival Guarantee. See all our ferns.
